Professor Alkis Psaltis is the Head of Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide, Australia and Professor at the University of Adelaide in South Australia. He completed a PhD from Adelaide University in 2008 and his advanced surgical training in 2010. He undertook three advanced rhinology and anterior skull base fellowships in NZ, and the USA, where he also served on faculty Stanford University. He returned to Adelaide in 2013 to become the head of department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Professor Psaltis has a strong research interest and co-directs the Adelaide ENT Research Institute. He has authored more than 170 peer-reviewed articles and 17 book chapters. He sits on the editorial board of 4 major international ENT journals and is the associate editor of Australian Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and the academic editor of PLOSone. He is a regular invited keynote speaker at major ENT and Rhinology conferences and has delivered more than 150 international and national presentations. He has been invited to lecture at more than 50 international skull base and sinus courses. He has served on the board of training for ENT in South Australia and is a national examiner for entry into ENT in Australia. He also currently sits as the academic representative on 2 boards for the Royal Australian College of Surgeons.
