BAPO Update Session: Emergency Paediatric ENT: an update

The paediatric emergency update session offers a concise 1 hour update on paediatric ENT presentations and will be of interest to all trainees and any ENT surgeons who are responsible for paediatric emergencies.  The session will have 4 succinct 12 minute presentations on important emergency presentations in paediatrics: stridor, complications of sinusitis, complications of acute otitis media and deep neck space infection.  It will conclude with a 12 minute panel discussion with the opportunity for audience members to ask the panel about emergency topics.  Our presenters and panel are leading national paediatric ENT surgeons from Sheffield, Glasgow, Middlesbrough and Liverpool.

  • Be aware of the best evidence for the management of complications of acute otitis media such as mastoiditis and sigmoid sinus thrombosis
  • Understand the emergency management and differential diagnosis in paediatric stridor
  • Be aware of the latest updates in management of rhinosinusitis complications
  • Understand the presentations and medical and surgical treatment of deep neck space infection
